Allen tosses shutout against county foe Marked Tree

EPC's Meagan Allen gave up only two hits as the Lady Warriors pounded out nine hits in an 11-0 win over the Lady Indians this past Monday in softball action in Marked Tree.

Keragan Gordon walked leading off for EPC before stealing second base. Gordon tried to steal third but was thrown out as Allen beat out an infield single. Allen stole second base and moved to third on a ground out by Madison Wiggins. Allen scored on a passed ball to make it 1-0 as Emili Mangrum struck out looking for the third out. Ally Byers reached first after the catcher missed the ball on strike three. Brittany Pharis reached on an error as the runners moved to second and third on the same play. Harley Daniels, Cameron Willoughby and Sydney Rotcheid all struck out to leave the runners on base keeping the score 1-0 EPC after one. Jordyn Brewer and Taylor Hannah both struck out before Becca Miller reached on an error. Bre Ward looked at strike three leaving Miller on first. Katherine Hobbs struck out leading off the bottom of the second inning for Marked Tree as Savannah Swink drew a walk. Naysha Moore and Alex Noe both watched strike three pass to end the inning with the score still 1-0 Lady Warriors.
