Harlson no-hits Highland in district tourney opener

Kloey Harson didn't allow a hit over four innings of work as the Harrisburg Lady Hornets beat host Highland 12-0 to win via the run rule this past Monday in opening round action of the 4A-3 district tournament in Ash Flat.

Highland got a runner on with one out only to leave her stranded when Harlson got a strikeout and a groundout to leave the runner stranded. Anna Walker, Ansley Wixson and Jehlian Wright all drew walks before Walker scored on a fielder's choice ground ball from Harlson that forced Wixson out at third base to make it 1-0 Lady Hornets. Caitlyn Adams singled to bring in Wright making it 2-0 Harrisburg. Harlson scored on a passed ball to make it 3-0 Lady Hornets as Hayden Hopkins grounded out to end the inning. The Lady Rebels went three up and three down in the top of the second inning as Harrisburg added three more runs in the bottom half. Jayden Roark led off with a single and moved to second on a wild pitch. Cassie Armstrong walked as both runners moved up a base on a passed ball. Roark scored on Lacey Lambright's ground out to make 4-0 before Walker popped out. Armstrong scored on a wild pitch making it 5-0 Harrisburg. Wixson walked before Wright struck out looking to end the second inning.
