Trumann Police make arrest in kidnapping
The Trumann Police Department made two arrests in a kidnapping Monday night.
According to a press release from Trumann Police Chief Chad Henson, officers responded to call about a woman being kidnapped at gunpoint at Cedar Park. Witnesses told police a white man and white woman, carrying a black pistol and wooden bat, had forced the victim into a white Nissan Altima.
According to police, the suspects, Danny Brown, 28, and Amanda Tippitt, 27, both of Trumann, returned the victim to her home, where law enforcement were still staged. Brown and Tippitt were taken into custody without incident.
The victim later told investigators that the kidnapping stemmed from a drug deal gone wrong and that after she pleaded with Brown and Tippitt to release her, they threw their weapons out of their vehicle near Bay. Investigators located the weapons shortly afterward.
Brown and Tippitt face charges of Kidnapping, Aggravated Robbery, Aggravated Assault, Tampering with Physical Evidence, Obstructing Governmental Operations, Possession of a Firearm by Certain Persons, and Terroristic Threatening.
