Stars and Stripes Festival is this weekend
Tyronza's annual Stars and Stripes Festival will take place this Friday and Saturday, May 4 and 5.
Things kick off with music Friday night as Rebourn takes the stage from 6-7 p.m., followed by The Purple Hulls from 7:30-9:30 p.m.
Saturday, Bounce-N-Fund will provide a carnival from noon to 6 p.m. with a 22' slide, a 12' food slide, an obstacle course, a rock wall, and more. The rest of Saturday's schedule is as follows.
6:30-9 a.m. Breakfast of pancakes, chocolate gravy, and biscuits at the Tyronza Senior Center (Fire Department fundraiser).
8 a.m. Fun Run/Walk (starts at Southern Tenant Farmers Museum)
10 a.m. Arts, crafts, and food booths open. (Downtown park)
10:30 a.m. Parade line-up on the service road beside A&A.
11 a.m. Parade down Main Street.
11:45 a.m. Opening ceremony (Downtown stage)
12-1 p.m. Crowley's Ridge Cloggers (Downtown stage)
12:30 p.m. Peddle Car Race (Mullins Street)
1 p.m. Children's games (across from Fire Department) and skeet shoot (Tyronza Park/Post Office)
2 p.m. Corn Hole Contest (Beside Fire Department)
2-4 p.m. Music--Greene Ryver Band (Downtown Stage)
3 p.m. NEA Rock, Paper, Scissor Tournament (Tyronza Senior Center)
4 p.m. Women's Cast Iron Skillet Throw Contest (across from Fire Department)
4:30-6:30 p.m. Music--RIP Curtis Band (Downtown Stage)
6:30 p.m. Drawings (Downtown Stage)
7-9 p.m. Music--Drive South (Downtown Stage)
9:30-11:30 p.m. Music--The ShotGunBillys (Downtown Stage)
