Phillips named all-state baseball for EPC
Peyton Phillips of EPC capped off his senior season with his selection to the Class 2A all-state baseball team. Phillips, who caught every game for the Warriors, helped his team to a 14-9 record. Hitting at a .594 clip, Phillips had 38 RBIs and three home runs while only stirking out five times. He finished the season with a .756 on-base percentage. Phillips also, who also garnered an all-conference honors, threw out 18 base runners trying to steal. “He consistently came through in big situations for us this year. He set a goal to make all-state and he accomplished it,” EPC head baseball coach Adam Chamberlin said. “He increased his batting average over 200 points from last season while leading the team in batting average, on-base percentage, RBIs, slugging percentage and extra base hits.
