Mrs. Emelean Ann Fortson of Jonesboro departed this life on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro, AR at the age of 71 years, 7 months and 21 days.  She lived most of her lifetime in Trumann before moving to Jonesboro two years ago. She was a housewife and of the Pentecostal faith. She was preceded in death by one son Jessie Clairday, two sisters, one brother and her parents, Marvin and Edith Baney Carter. She is survived by her husband of 39 years, James “Eckie” Fortson of the home; two daughters, Donna Veal of Jonesboro and Connie Hensley of Trumann; one step-daughter, Judy Howerton (Darryl) of Jonesboro; one step-son, Randy Fortson (Ava) of Jonesboro; one sister, Linda Thomas of Trumann; two brothers, Charles Carter and Bill Carter both of Trumann; 17 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and many great-great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be Friday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home with Rev. Kenny Guy McMahan officiating. Burial will follow in Bolivar Cemetery near Harrisburg, Ark. Pallbearers will be Steven Cox, Brandon Hensley, Mark Clairday, Kyle Teters, Beau Fortson, Luke Fortson, Jeremy Bryan and Michael McKinney. Honorary pallbearers will be TJ Miller, Bryon Hensley, Casey Fortson and Aaron Howerton. Visitation will be Friday afternoon from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann.
