Junior Lady Wildcats get 44-20 win over Piggott

Trumann led from start to finish in defeating the Piggott Junior Lady Mohawks 44-20 this past Monday night at Wildcat Gym.

Carlie Hicks put the first points on the board for Trumann with a basket inside as Piggott answered with a basket in the paint to make 2-2. Kayde Jones hit a jumper in the lane before the Junior Lady Mohawks hit a jumper to keep the game tied at 4-4. Kayde Jones hit two free throws and then had a steal and layup to make it 8-4 Trumann with 3:06 left. Piggott hit one of two free throws and then scored a basket down low to make it 8-7 Junior Lady Wildcats. Kayde Jones got another steal and layup and followed by hitting one of two free throws to make the score 11-7 Trumann. Tonia Barnes hit a jumper in the lane late for the Junior Lady Wildcats to push their lead to 13-7 at the end of one.

Kayde Jones got a stick back basket and drilled a three-pointer to make it 18-7 early in the second quarter before the Junior Lady Mohawks drilled a three-ball to cut the lead to 18-10. Kayde Jones hit another trey before scoring off the fast break making it 23-10 Junior Lady Wildcats with 2:36 left. Piggott hit a jumper, Hicks made one of two free throws as the Junior Lady Mohawks canned a three-pointer at the buzzer to make the halftime score 24-14 Trumann.
