Lady Warriors fall to Manila in NEA Invitational opener

EPC could only muster five points in the third quarter as Manila opened a double digit lead before going on to win 39-28 in opening round play of the girls Division I at the NEA Invitational Tournament being played at First National Bank Arena in Jonesboro.

Keragan Gordon canned a three-pointer for EPC to open the game before the Lady Lions scored the next six points with a jumper in the lane, two free throws and a basket in the paint to make the score 6-3 Manila after one quarter of play.

The Lady Lions pushed the lead to 10-3 with back to back jumpers with 3:58 left as Gordon hit another three-ball for the Lady Warriors and Bre Ward hit a running jumper for EPC to make the score 10-8. Manila hit a three-pointer and added two free throws before the quarter ended to make it 15-8 Lady Lions at the half.
