Lady Wildcats tumble in tournament play

Trumannís fourth quarter run came up short as the Lady Wildcats lost 48-41 to t Riverside in their opening round game this past Friday in Jonesboro.

Riverside scored the first points of the game with a basket inside before the Lady Wildcats got two free throws from Mallory Hartley to make it 2-2. The Lady Rebels hit two free throws as Trumann got back to back baskets from Hartley and Daly Taylor to make the score 6-4 Lady Wildcats with 4:50 left. Riverside scored the last six points of the quarter to take a 10-6 lead at the end of one.

Mycha Wilson hit two free throws for Trumann to start the second quarter scoring as the Lady Rebels hit one of two free throws to make it 11-8 Riverside. Hartley hit a jumper in the lane for Trumann, the Lady Rebels hit a jumper in the lane before Hartley hit two free throws for the Lady Wildcats to make it 13-12 Riverside with 2:43 left. The Lady Rebels hit two free throws, Tay Smith converted an old-school three-point play for Trumann as Riverside made back to back baskets to lead 19-15 at halftime.
