Lady Wildcats cruise to win over Manila

Trumann opened the game with a 7-0 run and never looked back as the Lady Wildcats handed Manila a 64-26 loss this past Monday in Trumann.

Tay Smith had a steal and layup for the first points of the game as Mycha Wilson stuck back an offensive rebound and Hannah McClaughlin hit the first of her seven three-pointers to make it 7-0 Lady Wildcats. Manila scored back to back baskets to make it 7-4 only to see Trumann get a basket inside from Haley Mathis, a three-pointer from Wilson and one of two free throws from Smith to make it 13-4 Lady Wildcats with 2:10 left. Mathis hit one of two frees and scored a basket inside to give Trumann a 16-4 lead at the end of one quarter of play.

Mallory Hartley canned three-ball for Trumann to open the second quarter as the Lady Lions responded with a three-pointer and a basket inside to make it 19-9 Lady Wildcats. Smith hit a jumper for Trumann, the Lady Lions scored inside before Trumann scored the next nine points as Wilson had back to back baskets, McClaughlin drilled a three-pointer and Wilson scored inside making it 30-11 Lady Wildcats with 3:03 left. Manila netted a three-ball and added two free throws to make it 30-16 only to see Trumann get a basket inside and one of two free throws from Hartley and a basket inside from Mathis to make it 35-16 Lady Wildcats. The Lady Lions hit one of two free throws late to make the halftime score 35-17 Trumann.
