Barnes garners Class 4A all-state football selection

Trumann's MJ Barnes was a force on both sides of the ball playing wide receiver on offense and linebacker on defense for the Trumann Wildcats. Barnes was chosen for the Class 4A all-state football team for his season accomplishments.

Barnes had 73 tackles from his linebacker position with one interception and three forced fumbles on the year. Barnes also had a blocked punt. On the offensive side, Barnes had 23 catches for 370 yards and two touchdowns.

"M.J. is the type of kid every coach wants in their program. He shows up everyday to work with a smile on his face. He never complains and is a truly selfless player. He is a great teammate and athlete and a tremendous young man. He led us in tackles this year from his outside linebacker position with 73 while creating for turnovers and was a focal point of are defense. He also made a number of huge receptions on 3rd and long from his wide receiver spot as well countless blocks to help spring the Running Backs.. He was a big weapon for us there," Trumann head coach Craig Green said.
