Junior Wildcats fall to Osceola in double overtime
Four quarters wasn’t enough to decide a winner so Trumann and Osceola played a couple overtime quarters before the Junior Seminoles outscored the Junior Wildcats 12-4 in the second overtime to take a 53-45 win this past Saturday in Trumann.
Osceola jumped out to a 4-0 lead before Drew Osment canned a three-pointer making it 4-3 Junior Seminoles. Osceola hit one of two free throws and scored off the fast break to make it 7-3 as Azani Smith scored inside for the Junior Wildcats to make the score 7-5 Junior Seminoles with 3:20 left. Osceola hit two free throws and scored a basket inside to push the lead to 11-5 only to see Jaquavious Love drill a three-ball for Trumann to make it 11-8. Osceola hit a three-pointer late to take a 14-8 lead after one.
The Junior Seminoles scored off the fast break early in the second quarter as Trumann got a basket inside from Rian King and an old-school three-point play from Smith to make it 16-13 Osceola with 1:21 left. The Junior Seminoles scored inside, Love scored off the fast break for Trumann as Osceola hit two free throws to make the score 20-14 Junior Seminoles at the half.
