Mrs. Amber Nichole Smithson McClaughlin, 38, of Trumann, Ark., departed this life on Sunday, February 10, 2019 at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro, Ark. She was born in Jonesboro, Ark., and was a life-time resident of Trumann, Ark. Amber was a Wildcat cheerleader from 8th to 12th grade and was an All-American cheerleader for 2 years. Amber graduated with an Associates degree in Business from Arkansas State University-Jonesboro in 2003. Amber lived for and loved watching her children grow up and play sports, and she always had her coach’s back, her husband. She was so proud of her kids hard work in school. She loved and adored her husband ever since they met 20 years ago, they did everything together. She loved her family, she loved her friends, and she always took care of everyone. Amber was also an Organ Donor. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, J.W. and Janiece “Mama Niece” Smithson, great-grandparents Ira and Martha Abbott, Jay and Ella “Big Mama” Smithson, cousin, Melanie Dawn Cox (Smithson), Uncle, Jerry Ferguson, Jess and Bessie “Nana” McClaughlin and father-in-law, Mike Davies. She is survived by her husband of 12 years, Brandon McClaughlin of the home; one daughter, Hannah McClaughlin; one son, Brayden McClaughlin; Her mother, Debbie Smithson and father, Randy Richards; one brother, Derick Smithson and wife Brittany; Aunt Dana Ferguson, Uncle Michael Smithson and wife Shannon; Cousins, Jerra, Jordan, Mareena, Malorie, Katie, and Melissa; Niece Danielle Coin and Nephews, Garen and Devin Smithson; mother and father in law, Glyn and Lisa Clemons; Sister-in-Law, Jessica “Jessie” McClaughlin, Best Family Friends, Lori and Woody Adams, Andrea Coin and Jason Brown. Visitation was Saturday, February 16, 2019, at Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann. Funeral service were February 16, 2019, in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann with Jackie Byest officiating. Burial followed in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery in Jonesboro, Ark. Pallbearers were be Gary Richey, Jason Brown, Josh Brown, Jaron Brown, Dawson Brown, John McClaughlin, Tracy Dunavin, Woody Adams, and Uncle Al Miller. Online guest book can be signed at
