Lady Warriors fall in district tournament semi-finals

EPC hung with Earle the first quarter before the Lady Bulldogs opened up a 27 point halftime lead on their way to a 64-24 win over the Lady Warriors in semi-finals action of the 2A-6 district tournament last Thursday in Marked Tree.

Earle got on the board first with a jumper before Tileyah Ward hit two free throws for EPC and Emili Mangrum scored inside for the Lady Warriors to make it 4-2 EPC. The Lady Bulldogs scored the next eight points to go up 10-4 as Keragan Gordon hit two free throws and a three-pointer before Tileyah Ward got a steal and a layup to make it 11-10 Lady Warriors with 3:18 left. Earle reeled off 10 points to go up 20-11 as Mangrum added a basket inside late for EPC to make it 20-13 Earle at the end of one.

The Lady Bulldogs pushed their lead to 25-13 before Mangrum scored inside for EPC to make it 25-15. Earle got a stick back basket, Kayla Reel hit two free throws for the Lady Warriors only to see Earle scored 17 straight points to take a 44-15 lead with a minute left in the quarter. Bre Ward hit one of two free throws for EPC to make the halftime score 44-17 Lady Bulldogs.
