Harleigh Hamilton and Ethan Stewart were selected to attend the 2019 Arkansas DU Varsity camp. The campers come from all over the state and they are nominated by Ducks Unlimited volunteers from local chapters across the state. The Arkansas Varsity Conservation Camp is conducted by Arkansas Ducks Unlimited (DU). The camp was held from January 31 through February 3 at Five Oaks Duck Lodge near DeWitt. Each year only 20 campers attend the camp. Trumann was lucky enough to have two campers nominated and accepted this year

The camp curriculum is designed for youth ages 15 to 17 years old. A few of the activities they participated in were seining for aquatic invertebrates; retriever demonstrations; waterfowl ID; duck calling demonstrations, and the youth hunt. Campers learn about waterfowl, wetlands and the importance of conservation in North America.
