EPC’s Kaylee Hood drew a bases loaded walk in the bottom of the seventh inning to score Emili Mangrum giving the Lady Warriors an 11-10 come from behind win over Jonesboro last Thursday in Lepanto. The Lady Hurricane built a 9-0 lead after two and half innings as EPC scored one run in the bottom of the third, two in the bottom of the fourth, there each in the bottom of the fifth and sixth and two in the bottom of the seventh. Zoe Constant led EPC with a hit, two runs and two RBIs as Meagan Allen had a hit an two RBIs. Hood had a hit, two runs and a RBI, Bre Ward had a hit and two runs, Jordyn Brewer had a hit, a run and a RBI, Edith Santos had a hit and a RBI, Gordon had two runs as Mangrum and India O’Bannon had a run each. Ward had three stolen bases as Gordon and Hood had two stolen bases each. Allen got the win for EPC as she pitched all seven innings giving up 10 runs on eight hits with eight walks and 12 strikeouts.

Harrisburg (1-3, 0-1 3A-2) had only two hits as the Hornets lost 13-0 to Pocahontas this past Monday in Pocahontas. Hayden Creecy and Samuel Moore each had a hit for Harrisburg as Jett Jackson was hit by a pitch and Jaden Gipson drew a walk for the Hornets only base runners of the game. Ross Heeb took the loss as pitched two innings giving up 11 runs on five hits while walking seven batters. Jamason King pitched two innings allowing two runs on two hits with two strikeouts as Parker Jones worked the fifth inning with no runs or hits.

The Trumann Lady Wildcats were held to one hit this past Monday as they lost to Walnut Ridge 6-0 in a 3A-3 home game this past Monday. Maddie Roach had Trumann’s lone hit. Devin Overshine took the loss for the Lady Wildcats pitching all seven innings allowing six runs on seven hits with one walk and three strikeouts.

Harrisburg’s Kloey Harlson was one out away from a perfect as the Lady Hornets beat Gosnell 10-0 this past Monday in Gosnell. Harlson gave up a two-out single in the bottom of seventh before completing the shutout. Harlson struck out 19 batters . Harlson also led Harrisburg at the plate with two hits (one a grand slam homerun), a run scored and five RBIs as Ansley Wixson and Anna Walker each had two hits, two runs scored and a RBI. Cassie Armstorng added two hits for the Lady Hornets.

Poinsett County had three basketball players selected as all-state performers this past season. Ben Turner (Trumann) and Mallory Hartley (Trumann) were selected all-state in Class 3A and Trayvius Brown (Marked Tree) was tabbed all-state in Class 2A. Jay Gilmore (EPC) and Israel Malone (Marked Tree) made the Class2A all-tournament team as Hartley made the Class 3A all-state tournament team.
