Warriors blanked in 2A-6 district championship game

EPC fell behind early and was never able to catch up as the Warriors lost 10-0 to McCrory this past Friday in the championship game of the 2A-6 district finals in McCrory. The Warriors will be the second seed from the district and will play Salem Thursday (May 2) at the upcoming 2A North Regional tournament also in McCrory.

The Warriors fell behind early as McCrory hit a three-run home run off start Kern Kline in the top of the first to take a 3-0 lead. Preston Rains beat out an infield single with two outs in the bottom half only to be left on base when Deuce Moore struck out. EPC kept the Jaguars off the board in the top of the second to keep the score 3-0 McCrory. Tysean Garrett singled with one out and moved into scoring position on a passed ball only to be left on base at the end of the inning.

McCrory added two more runs in the top of the third inning pushing their lead to 5-0 as the Warriors went down in order in the bottom half. The Jaguars again went down in order in the top of the fourth inning as the scored stayed 5-0 Jaguars. Garrett walked leading off the bottom of the inning only to be left on base again. McCrory pushed two more runs across in the top of the fifth inning to extend their lead t 7-0. EPC went down in order in the bottom of the inning to keep the score the same.
