Harrisburg's Kloey Harlson was selected to the Class 3A all-state softball after a stellar sophomore season for the Lady Hornets. This is Harlson's second all-state honor after being tabbed for the Class 4A all-state team as a freshman. Harlson helped Harrisburg to a 15-4 record winning the Class 3A-3 Regional Tournament and making the Class 3A State Tournament. Starting all 19 games in the circle, Harlson had a 15-4 record with 207 strikeouts while giving up only nine walks in 123 innings of work. She gave up 71 hits and 43 runs (only 16 earned) for a .911 earned run average. Harlson also had a .913 fielding percentage committing only two errors in 23 chances. At the plate Harlson batted .448 with 30 hits that included six doubles and three home runs. She drove in 23 runs while scoring eight times in limited base running action. She only struck out six times on the season. “Kloey is a tremendous athlete who gives us a chance to win every time she steps into the circle,” Harrisburg softball coach Chastan Carpino said. “She's another one of the players I've had that I think is wise beyond her years having a lot of softball experience. She has great command, leadership and composure and you don't find that in too many sophomores,” Carpino added.
